Award-winning country radio in Quinte was born when Q100 FM began official broadcasting on October 31, 2001.
To celebrate this milestone, a private launch party was held on November 19 at Matt&Joes featuring Universal Recording Male Artist of the Year Jason McCoy.
On July 26, 2002, the CRTC approved the application by Starboard Communications Ltd. to acquire CJOJ-FM and CHCQ-FM and radio excitement was dialled up!
In January 2010, Cool 100 and its sister station Classic Hits 95.5 moved to their new home at 497 Dundas Street West. This building was acquired by Starboard Communications on May 1, 2009, and underwent significant renovations to accommodate new, state-of-the-art broadcast technology.
