Sadly Betty White passed away on December 31st, 2021, just 17 days before her 100th birthday. In addition to being a legendary actress, Betty White was an animal welfare activist. She advocated for guide dogs, was a long-standing board member of the L.A. Zoo, and was a recipient of the National Humanitarian Medal and Legacy Award (source: The Washinton Post, 2022).
On January 17th, 2022, what would have been Betty White’s 100th birthday, the #BettyWhiteChallenge was created. January 17th, 2023 marks the 1st anniversary of the challenge.
The #BettyWhiteChallenge encourages people to donate at least $5 to a local animal welfare organization. We want to get the ball rolling and have made a donation to all the wonderful local animal welfare organizations listed below. Now it is your turn, to choose one or all of the organizations and make a donation or maybe you have the space to adopt a fur baby. Every little bit helps. So in honour of what would have been Betty White’s 101st Birthday let’s help change some animal’s lives.
